About the Artist
Leticia “Lety” Espinoza Le Bleu was born in Los Angeles, California. At age 12, she moved with her mother, Paz Espinoza, and her brothers to El Paso, Texas—a city she quickly grew to love and call home. Summers in Santa Monica became a cherished tradition, where she spent time with her beloved aunt, Tia Esperanza. You will see a painting of Tia Esperanza today.
Since 2004, Lety has made Salt Lake City her home. She is the proud mother of Bianca (33) and Alonzo (30). Lety earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso and built a successful career as a graphic designer for over 20 years. Recently, she embraced her true calling as a full-time fine artist, guided by her philosophy:
“Why wait until I retire to do what I love every day?”
Her passion for art shines through in every piece she creates, inviting viewers to connect deeply with her work. Reflecting on her life and her paintings, Lety believes each experience has shaped her artistic journey, bringing her to LOOK CLOSER at this new chapter.
Throughout her career, Lety has sold numerous paintings to collectors across Texas, New Mexico, California, Washington D.C., North Carolina, Mexico City, Chihuahua, and Utah. Before pursuing her degree, she honed her skills by painting reproductions of masters such as Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh, Zubiran, and Monet. Today, her work is inspired by her love of paint and its textures. She enjoys commissioned projects that allow her to create contemporary pieces in her distinctive impressionistic style.
